Mammalian Engineer
Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc.
Lauren Baugh is working in a growing and dynamic team at Ginkgo Bioworks focused on using genetic engineering of different types of mammalian cells to complete different projects. Working with a range of different cell types – from primary immune cells to genetically altered cell lines – her work leverages both the transcriptomic/computational biology work and the cell culture/cell systems work that she learned from MIT’s Lauffenburger and Griffith labs. Lauren is also involved in the business development side of Ginkgo, leveraging her skills to try and entice new customers so that Ginkgo can expand its repertoire in to new spaces – hopefully into more complex 3D or multi-organ systems.
