Led by MIT engineer Linda Griffith, the Center for Gynepathology Research brings together more than 15 laboratories and clinical practices in the Boston area and globally. Together, we drive basic and clinical research in endometriosis, infertility, pre-term birth, sexually transmitted diseases, and other pathologies of the female reproductive tract.

In March 2026, the NIH awarded CGR a major grant to establish a NAMs Technology Development Center for Women’s Health. This new center focuses on developing novel approach methodologies (NAMs), such as organs-on-chips and other advanced platforms, to model human biology in ways traditional methods cannot. By shifting research from animal models to engineered human systems, we’re advancing the understanding of female-skewed diseases and accelerating solutions for women’s health.
